Why Homeowners Call Us Back

Insulation Work You Can Actually Trust

Insulation is one of the few home improvements nobody ever sees. That makes it easy to cut corners on — and it is exactly why we document everything we do.

A Local, Family-Run Crew

You deal with the same people from the first phone call to the finished job — no call centres and no rotating subcontractors.

30 Years of Combined Experience

Our installers have spent decades in Northwest Washington crawl spaces and attics. Wet ground, tight access, rodent damage — we have seen it.

Clean, Careful Work

Floors are protected, old material is bagged and hauled away the same day, and we leave your crawl space cleaner than we found it.

Honest, Written Pricing

Every estimate is free, in writing and explained in plain language. Seniors or military households receive 5% off qualifying projects (one discount per project — they don’t stack).

What We Do

Insulation Services

Crawl spaces and attics are our speciality, and we cover everything that has to happen around them to make the insulation last.

Finished crawl space with new insulation and ground cover

Crawl Space Insulation

Under-floor batt insulation installed tight to the subfloor and properly supported so it never sags. We handle removal of the old material, sub-floor insulation, rim joists and access hatches.

Attic Insulation

Blown-in or batt insulation brought up to modern depth, with baffles at the eaves and a sealed attic hatch. The single highest-return insulation upgrade in most Washington homes.

Insulation Removal & Clean-Out

Wet, compressed, rodent-damaged or smoke-affected insulation vacuumed and bagged out, along with debris left behind by earlier trades. A clean cavity is the only honest starting point for new material.

Vapor Barrier & Ground Cover

Heavy-gauge polyethylene lapped, sealed and run up the stem walls to cut the moisture that rises out of bare soil — the root cause of most failed crawl space insulation in this region.

Blown-In & Batt Insulation

Loose-fill fiberglass for open attic floors and irregular cavities, faced or unfaced batts for joist bays and walls. We match the material to the assembly rather than to whatever is on the truck.

Duct Sealing & Insulation

Leaky, bare or crushed ducts wasting the air you already paid to heat get sealed, re-supported and wrapped so the warm air reaches your rooms instead of the crawl space.

Crawl Space Encapsulation

The full version of a vapor barrier: a reinforced liner sealed to the floor and walls, foundation vents closed, rim joists sealed and humidity held in a safe range year-round.

Sump Pumps & Drainage

Where groundwater gets in, it has to be collected and pumped out first. Basins, pumps, check valves, discharge lines and interior drainage — installed before the insulation, not after.

Air Sealing

Insulation slows heat through a surface; it does very little about air moving straight past it. Sealing the leaks first is what makes the insulation perform the way the label says.

Why It Matters

What Proper Insulation Actually Changes

In this part of Washington the problem is rarely extreme cold — it is persistent damp and long, grey heating seasons. A crawl space with bare soil pushes moisture up into the floor system every day of the year, and insulation that has absorbed that moisture stops working long before it looks bad.

Getting the assembly right — ground cover, air sealing, then the right insulation at the right depth — changes how the whole house feels:

  • Warmer floors. The most immediate difference most customers notice.
  • Lower heating bills. Less conditioned air lost through the floor and ceiling.
  • Less moisture and odour. A sealed ground cover cuts the damp at the source.
  • Better indoor air. Air from the crawl space ends up in your living space.
  • Fewer pests. Clean, tight assemblies are far less attractive to rodents.
  • Quieter rooms. Insulation dampens sound between floors and outside.
  • Protected pipes. Insulated crawl spaces are far less prone to freeze-ups.
  • Stronger resale. Documented insulation work is an easy inspection win.

Crawl Space Encapsulation

A Healthier Home Starts Underneath

Warm air rises through a house and pulls replacement air up from below. In a vented crawl space, that air comes off damp soil — and up to half the air on your main floor can start there. Encapsulation seals the crawl space off, so the air your family breathes starts clean and dry.

Cleaner Indoor Air

With the soil covered, vents closed and gaps sealed, the air rising into your living space no longer passes over bare dirt and damp, dusty insulation on its way in.

Healthy Humidity Levels

A sealed, dehumidified crawl space stays dry year-round. Keeping humidity in check makes it much harder for mould and mildew to take hold under your floors.

Easier On Allergies

Dust mites and mould spores thrive in damp air. A drier house can mean fewer triggers for family members with allergies or asthma.

No More Musty Smell

That earthy, musty odour in many older Northwest homes usually comes from the crawl space. Seal out the damp and the smell goes with it.

How It Works

Four Steps, No Surprises

1

Free On-Site Assessment

We come out, get into the crawl space or attic, photograph what is actually there, and measure existing insulation depth, moisture, ventilation and any rodent or water damage.

2

Clear Written Estimate

You get a clear written estimate for the whole job, with the scope of work explained in plain language — plus an honest note on anything we think can wait.

3

Removal & Preparation

Old material is bagged at the source and carried out. We clean debris, repair or replace vapor barrier, and correct the small issues that would shorten the life of the new insulation.

4

Install & Completion Photos

New insulation is installed to spec, supported properly, and photographed so you can see the finished work for yourself.

Good Questions

Insulation FAQs

How do I know my crawl space insulation needs replacing?
The usual signs are cold floors in winter, a musty smell in the house, rising heating bills, or insulation you can see hanging down between the joists. In Northwest Washington the most common cause is moisture: fiberglass that has absorbed water loses most of its R-value and will not recover. If batts are sagging, stained, compressed, or show rodent runs, they are no longer doing much for you.
What R-value should my crawl space and attic have?
Washington’s energy code targets roughly R-30 under the floor and R-49 in the attic for our climate zone. Plenty of homes in Skagit and Whatcom County were built to R-11 or R-19 and never upgraded. We measure what is there and tell you where you actually stand before quoting anything.
Do you remove the old insulation, or just add on top?
It depends on the condition. Dry, intact attic insulation can often be topped up. Anything wet, mouldy, rodent-contaminated, or falling out of the joists has to come out first — adding new material over failed insulation traps the problem and wastes your money. We will tell you plainly which situation you are in.
How long does a typical job take?
It depends on the size of the home and the condition of the space. Larger homes, heavy rodent contamination or full vapor barrier replacement all add time. We give you a realistic timeline in the written estimate rather than a hopeful one.
Do you handle rodent damage and clean-up?
Yes. We remove contaminated insulation and debris, clean the area, and install new material. If there are active entry points we will point them out so they can be sealed — new insulation over an unsealed crawl space is a short-term fix.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it. We come out, look at the actual space, and give you a written number. Seniors or military households receive 5% off qualifying projects (one discount per project — they don’t stack).
